What this estimate assumes
Under 38 CFR 3.31, payment generally starts the month after your effective date. The initial partial month is excluded, even if your effective date is the first. This estimate includes full entitlement months before the decision month and does not prorate that month.
The awarded rating, dependent status and already-paid amount stay constant. Offsets for retirement, severance, withholding, staged ratings, changing dependents and special effective-date exceptions are not included. A negative monthly difference is floored at zero. Your VA award letter determines the actual amount.
