Hunting and fishingNo-cost disability hunting and fishing licenseThe resident disability license includes listed freshwater, saltwater and hunting privileges and state permits. Qualifying disabled veterans can receive a five-year license; hunter-safety and other species requirements remain.Florida resident honorably discharged veteran certified with at least 50% service-connected disability. State parksLifetime Military Entrance PassQualifying disabled veterans can obtain a free lifetime entrance pass with the benefits of the family annual entrance pass. Other honorably discharged veterans can receive a 25% annual-pass discount.Honorable discharge and documented service-connected disability for the lifetime pass. Obtain it in person at a staffed park location with the required documents. It covers entrance benefits, not every camping or activity charge.Official program details
EducationDependent scholarships and veteran tuition rulesFlorida offers scholarships for eligible children and spouses of deceased or permanent and totally disabled veterans. Honorably discharged veterans living in Florida may qualify for public-college out-of-state tuition-fee waivers.The dependent scholarship pathway includes a 100% service-connected permanent and total disability or qualifying service-connected death; student, veteran residency and program conditions also apply. EmploymentPublic employment preferenceFlorida provides qualifying applicants with preference in covered state and local public employment, retention and specified promotion circumstances. The applicant must still meet the position’s requirements.Covered veteran and service categories include honorably discharged veterans with compensable service-connected disability.
