The current statute sets a $50,000 base before annual adjustments; this is a taxable-value reduction, not a $50,000 tax payment. | Honorable release from active duty and a total service-connected disability rating or total compensation based on individual unemployability. One owned and occupied homestead; apply through the county auditor and confirm the certified amount for the relevant tax year. | Vehicle registrationFirst disabled veteran registration exemption | Eligible disabled veterans are exempt from the specified registration fees, service fees and local vehicle taxes for the first registration. Additional vehicles carry applicable fees and taxes. | Service-connected disability rated or compensated at 100%, or qualifying federal automobile-assistance award. Provide the registrar's required documentation; the vehicle must satisfy registration and ownership requirements.Official program details |
| Hunting and fishingFive-year free-license approval | Approved applicants can obtain specified annual hunting, fishing, trapping and wildlife privileges free during a five-year approval period. Licenses still need to be obtained each license year. | Six consecutive months of Ohio residence, and either honorable discharge plus VA permanent total disability and VA pension or compensation, qualifying Ohio DV plates, or qualifying former POW status.
