Vehicle registrationDisabled-veteran plate and reduced registrationA qualifying disabled-veteran plate carries a reduced annual registration charge. A separate motor-vehicle excise-tax exemption is available under the permanent-disability, 100%-compensation pathway, generally for one vehicle in three years.Plate eligibility includes at least 50% service-connected disability, a qualifying VA adapted-vehicle grant, or specified loss of a limb or eye. Hunting and fishingFree permits and reduced lifetime licensesResident veterans rated 60% or higher can receive free hunting and fishing permits. Reduced lifetime combination licenses cost $200 below 60% and $25 at 60% or higher; the lifetime license includes additional privileges beyond the free permit.Oklahoma residency and VA disability certification. Income taxMilitary retirement exclusionOklahoma excludes 100% of qualifying military retirement benefits from any U.S. Armed Forces component, beginning with tax year 2022. VA disability compensation is tax-free.Claim the subtraction on the applicable Oklahoma income-tax return.
