Vehicle registrationQualifying military and disabled-veteran platesSouth Carolina offers qualifying disabled-veteran and other military plates, with free plate pathways for specified disabilities or awards. Vehicle property-tax exemption is a separate benefit.Disabled-veteran plate rules require qualifying wartime disability, such as loss of use of limbs, specified blindness or permanent-total disability, plus the required VA/state and discharge documentation. Hunting and fishingFree disability licensesEligible resident veterans can receive three-year disability combination or fishing licenses. The combination license includes specified hunting, big-game, fishing and wildlife-management privileges.VA disability rating with eligibility for compensation; resident ID and a current disability certification are required. State parksHalf-price All Park PassportThe All Park Passport is available at half price for qualifying 100%-disabled residents and South Carolina National Guard members. It covers entry for the passholder vehicle and specified attractions.Provide qualifying disability or Guard documentation. EducationTuition waiver for children of certain war veteransEligible children can receive tuition waivers at state-supported colleges, universities and qualifying postsecondary technical institutions.Child age 26 or younger; qualifying wartime parental service/discharge and South Carolina residency.
